Thought For The Day: You Are “Not Stuff”

Stuff is people, places, things, ideas and circumstances.

We are brought up to believe that stuff is all there is so we naturally believe that all we are is stuff.

Every challenge you ever have in your life is attempting to teach you one main lesson:

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

How well you learn this lesson determines how many challenges you continue to have.

Part of becoming aware that you are not stuff is experiencing that there is some “thing” other than stuff; that some “thing” exists that is not stuff.

We can’t accurately put a label on “not stuff” because “not stuff” is not a thing (that’s why I put parentheses around the word thing in the above paragraph).

You can know that “not stuff” exists though through experiencing it.

You can most times best experience “not stuff” through your feelings.

You become aware of and feel “not stuff” as soon as you take a majority of your attention away from stuff (people, places, things, ideas and circumstances). “Not stuff” is what is left to experience when you take your attention away from stuff.

Part of becoming aware that you are not stuff is having the experience of what you actually are.

What you are is all that is not stuff.

Challenges bring us to the doorway of noticing that we are “not stuff” because it has suddenly become painful to keep experiencing ourselves as the stuff that we have been.

So next time you are experiencing a challenge, remember the main lesson:

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

You are not stuff

And you can use the challenge as an opportunity to experience what you actually are beyond stuff.
